About Suzannah T. Swan, MD

Suzannah Swan, MD, is an emergency medicine and urgent care physician at Phoenix Children's. Dr. Swan specializes in pediatric medicine and is skilled in sedation techniques for children as well as pediatric advanced life support techniques.

Having grown up in Arizona, Dr. Swan wanted to come home after completing her medical training. She knew that Phoenix Children's was where she wanted to practice medicine. She enjoys the caring atmosphere, her talented colleagues and providing children with the highest level of care.

Dr. Swan graduated summa cum laude with her undergraduate degree from Arizona State University before earning her medical degree at Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine in Portland, Oregon. She completed her pediatric residency training at Connecticut Children's Medical. She recently was invited to present research findings at the New England Pediatric Hospital Medicine Conference.

Dr. Swan believes in practicing inclusive medicine and the value of kindness, which she believes is essential when working with patients and their families. Growing up, she watched her sister struggle with health concerns, and her desire to care for people without a voice of their own is what drew her to a career in pediatrics. She finds great joy in working with children, even during their most stressful moments.

Dr. Swan enjoys traveling, exploring new places, trying new cuisines and adventuring when she isn't at work. She also can be found working on home improvement projects, in her kitchen trying new recipes or on the dance floor practicing salsa and ballroom routines with her husband.
