Listening to patients and their families is an important aspect of providing care. I also feel education is a large component of treating a patient which includes learning from them and teaching them.
About Taryn S. Raschein, MD
Taryn Raschein, MD, is a pediatric emergency medicine physician at Phoenix Children's who provides specialized emergency care for a spectrum of simple and complex medical conditions that affect children and adolescents.
After working as a paramedic for 10 years, Dr. Raschein decided to continue her education and attend medical school. Dr. Raschein earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Portland in Portland, Oregon, and her medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine in Vermillion, South Dakota, and a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at the Children's Minnesota Hospital system in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.
She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Raschein is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American Medical Association and the Association of American Indian Physicians.
When not caring for her patients, Dr. Raschein volunteers with animal rescue organizations and enjoys spending time outside. Her hobbies include gardening, exploring new places, watching NASCAR, attending rodeos and traveling to visit family.
