Erin Thornley, DO, is a pediatric intensivist and early career physician-scientist. Dr. Thornley earned a degree in osteopathic medicine from Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale. She completed her residency training in pediatrics at Phoenix Children's and her fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Thornley has an interest in basic and translational research with a focus on Staphylococcus aureus infection in children, with an emphasis on how the bacterium alters the host immune response in acute infection, wound healing, and the development of skin cancer.
Successes of Engaging in a Research Mentorship Program

Melissa Parks, DO, MPH, FACOG

Dr. Parks is a board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist who specializes in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. She received her medical degree from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and Masters of Public Health from the University of Arizona. She completed OB/GYN residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA and then went on to complete her fellowship in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology at Phoenix Children’s. She is now practicing full time as a Gynecologist at Phoenix Children’s. Education and research are central to her practice, mentoring future physicians as the assistant program director and research chair of the Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology department. She participates in various committees with the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology and serves as a consultant for Special Olympics Arizona.
