Dr. Claudia Yeung is originally from Portland, Oregon. After attending the Medical College of Wisconsin, she escaped the Midwest winters for the dry heat of the desert. She completed both residency training in pediatrics and fellowship training in pediatric emergency medicine at Phoenix Children's. Following fellowship, Dr. Yeung joined the ED faculty at Phoenix Children's. Complementing her interests in medical education and research, she became fellowship associate program director in summer 2020. Thrilled to continue her passion for the fellowship, she became program director in fall 2022. She serves as rotation director for the advanced PEM elective and teaches as a PALS instructor. She also participates in the hospital's bioethics committee. In addition to her work at the hospital, Dr. Yeung is a full-time foodie and craft beer connoisseur. In her free time, Dr. Yeung loves to play and watch sports, travel, and, most of all, hang out with her tiny humans and husband.
Anita Bharath, MD
Associate Program Director, PEM Fellowship

Dr. Anita Bharath joined Phoenix Children's as a PEM Attending in 2020. She's originally from Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating medical school from the Medical College of Georgia, she completed her pediatrics residency at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's in Houston, Texas. She completed Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship at Emory University/Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Anita became the Associate Program Director for the PEM Fellowship in 2023. Her other academic interests include simulation and quality improvement. Anita also enjoys exploring the Southwest with her wife and her dog.
Karen Yeager, DO, MS

Dr. Karen Yeager is originally from Houston, Texas. After completing medical school at the University of North Texas in Fort Worth, she moved to Phoenix to complete residency and fellowship training at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. After fellowship, Dr. Yeager completed an MS degree and board certification in Clinical Informatics in June 2022. Dr. Yeager is passionate about bedside medical education and loves teaching residents and fellows, as well as leveraging data analytics and informatics to improve patient care and workflows. As such, she joined the fellowship leadership in April 2023 as an associate program director. Outside of work, Dr. Yeager loves to bake, travel, and do DIY crafts. She spends most of her time with her husband, family, and two labradoodles.
