The heart surgery team at Phoenix Children’s Center for Heart Care offers a full range of advanced surgical therapies for heart disease, including heart transplant surgery.
Imaging and Evaluation
- Cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, tissue Doppler, nuclear, MRI and CT scans
- Outpatient evaluation, diagnostic testing and minimally invasive procedures
- Consultations and second opinions
Interventional Cardiology
- Interventional cardiac catheterization is a less invasive diagnostic and therapeutic surgery using catheters inserted through blood vessels, guided by advanced imaging technologies.
Heart Surgery Services
We specialize in pediatric heart surgery and care, including procedures ranging from outpatient evaluation and therapies to complex bypass and organ transplant procedures, critical care and rehabilitation. Services include:
- Open surgery for heart and related conditions
- Hybrid procedures, using a combination of heart catheterization and heart surgery
- Ventricular assist device (VAD) procedures, such as mechanical “heart pump” implantation and management.
- Minimally invasive surgeries are less invasive surgical approaches requiring tiny incisions as surgeons operate with sophisticated, camera-assisted technologies and techniques.
- Heart transplantation, including multispecialty evaluation, organ procurement and screening, counseling and support, and lifetime follow-up care.
