Phoenix Children’s, one of the nation’s largest pediatric health systems, has been recognized by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP) for its ethical research and comprehensive protections for research participants. The health system is one of just four Arizona healthcare organizations and one of just 15 children’s hospitals nationwide to currently hold this accreditation.

Phoenix Children’s Medical Group is pleased to welcome nine new providers to its nationally ranked Neonatology program. As Phoenix Children’s prepares to open an emergency department in July 2023 in Avondale, Ariz., the pediatric healthcare system today announced the site’s clinical leadership team. Christina Conrad, DO, a pediatric emergency medicine specialist, will serve as medical director and Theresa Asta, RN, MSN, CPEN, CPN, will serve as clinical manager.

In his new role, Dr. Patel leads four of Phoenix Children’s eight clinical centers. He also oversees hospitalist medicine, mental and behavioral health, and Phoenix Children’s Pediatrics practices. Beyond his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Patel is now part of the health system’s Executive Physician Leadership team and the Phoenix Children’s Medical Group Governance Council.

In an effort to increase donations and make a bigger dent in childhood hunger, Phoenix Children’s is inviting the community to participate in the seventh-annual employee cereal drive. The event, which yielded 1.3 million servings last year, reflects a partnership between Phoenix Children’s and St. Mary’s Food Bank to stock up on breakfast options for Arizona’s at-risk children and families.
