Immunohematology Clinic (IHC)
Patients with any or multiple of the following symptoms would be ideal candidates for referral to the IHC:
- Recurrent bacterial infections
- Recurrent viral infections
- Recurrent candidiasis
- History of severe infection (e.g. meningitis, sepsis)
- Early onset inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
- Severe/treatment refractory IBD
- Recurrent abscesses
- Organ abscess
- Hypogammaglobulinemia
- Lymphopenia
- Positive T-cell receptor excision circle (TREC) newborn screen
- Idiopathic thrombocytopenia (diagnosed at less than 18 months of age)
- Recurrent cytopenias
- Severe/treatment refractory eczema
- Chronic or recurrent lymphadenopathy
- Bone marrow failure
