Neurocritical Care Program
The neurocritical care team at Phoenix Children’s treats a variety of conditions, including:
- Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis
- Acute ischemic stroke
- Central nervous system or brain tumors
- Cerebral sinus thrombosis
- Coma and minimally conscious states
- Encephalitis
- Guillain-Barré syndrome
- Inborn errors of metabolism/metabolic disorders
- Intracranial hemorrhage
- Meningitis
- Myasthenia gravis
- Myelitis
- Neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy
- Severe traumatic brain injury (TBI)
- Spinal cord trauma
- Status epilepticus
We also provide advanced neurologic monitoring techniques for conditions such as:
- Acute respiratory or cardiac failure requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
- Congenital and acquired heart disease
- Neonatal hypoxicischemic encephalopathy (HIE)
