Treatment for Illnesses and Injuries

Unfortunately, getting sick or injured is a normal part of life. At Phoenix Children’s Pediatrics, we are here to help when life happens. Our healthcare team has extensive experience in diagnosing and treating many different health conditions.

We help patients with concerns like:

Behavioral and Mental Health Services

Emotional well-being is just as important as physical health. That’s why Phoenix Children’s Pediatrics offers behavioral health services at all our locations. With a referral, your child can meet with an on-site behavioral therapist who provides caring support in a safe, welcoming environment.

We help children who are:

  • Feeling anxious, sad, lonely or easily overwhelmed
  • Struggling with relationships at home or school
  • Frequently missing school
  • Irritable, angry or stressed
  • Having obsessive thoughts that are hard to control
  • Frequently ill or in pain
  • Experiencing bedwetting or loss of bladder control
  • Going through a lifestyle change (differences in eating, sleeping or exercising)
  • In behavioral treatment for chronic health conditions
  • Having headaches, stomachaches or trouble sleeping without a clear medical reason

Phoenix Children’s Pediatrics uses a collaborative care model for behavioral health services. Below are frequently asked questions about this service:

The collaborative care model uses a team-based approach to your child’s healthcare. Your child’s primary care provider will work directly with a behavioral health care manager. Together, they help support your child’s mental and physical health needs.

Collaborative care models help patients get timely, coordinated care for many conditions, including:

  • Being anxious, sad, lonely or easily overwhelmed
  • Struggling with relationships at home or school
  • Frequently missing school
  • Being irritable, angry or stressed
  • Having obsessive thoughts
  • Frequently being ill or in pain
  • Experiencing bedwetting or lost bladder control
  • Going through a lifestyle change (eating, sleep or exercise)
  • In behavioral treatment for chronic health conditions
  • Having headaches, stomachaches or trouble sleeping without a clear medical reason

Instead of billing for each individual visit, collaborative care is billed as a monthly service fee, covering all services and appointments with your care team.

Most insurance plans cover collaborative care services. Prior to your child’s initial visit with a behavioral health manager, we encourage you to contact your insurance provider to discuss coverage and determine which costs you will be responsible for when receiving these services.

Before your child’s first visit with a behavioral health manager, we encourage each family to contact their insurance provider to discuss which costs they will be responsible for when receiving these services.

Prenatal and Newborn Services

Your journey as a parent begins long before your baby is born, and so can your relationship with their pediatrician. We encourage expectant parents to schedule a prenatal visit to meet our team. During your visit, you’ll have a chance to ask questions and learn what to expect in the first days and months of your baby’s life.

All of our locations offer prenatal appointments for expectant parents. Phoenix Children’s Pediatrics also offers several services for our youngest patients and newest parents.
