- Phoenix Children’s recently hosted it’s second-ever “Quality Day” which gives all clinical staff, including residents, trainees, fellows, nurses, physicians and allied health professionals, the chance to present quality-improvement projects and ideas. The event is not only an exciting competition; it brings to light solutions that improve quality of patient care and processes in the workplace.
- Following Phoenix Children’s recent recognition from the Greater Phoenix Chamber as Exceptional Innovator, Phoenix Children’s was honored as large Businesses of the Year during the Chamber’s 31st Annual IMPACT Awards Luncheon. Innovation, growth, quality improvement, and a goal to educate are among what leaders at Phoenix Children’s recognize as its major success drivers.
- Phoenix Children’s Hospital is proud to announce the organization is again ranked by U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals, this year in 10 out of 10 specialties.
- Starting Saturday, December 17 at 5:00 a.m., Respiratory Virus Season visitor restrictions will be in effect at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. This means visitors must be at least 12 years old to visit with patients who are hospitalized.
- Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) and Phoenix Children’s Hospital announced the two organizations reached agreement on a new three-year contract. Under this new Contract, Phoenix Children’s Hospital will continue to be an in-network provider for BCBSAZ members and those families insured under plans that utilize the BCBSAZ network.
- Phoenix Children’s Hospital was announced the winner of the Best Use Of Innovative Mobile Technology category in the 2018 Mobie Awards, an inaugural awards event presented by Enterprise Mobility Exchange. The Hospital is recognized for deploying customizable iPad devices in patient rooms.
- Beginning on October 1, 2018, most AHCCCS Children’s Rehabilitative Services (CRS) members will be enrolled in one of the seven AHCCCS Complete Care (ACC) plans. ACC plan members may choose to receive care from any community provider contracted as an in-network provider with their ACC plan. Phoenix Children’s is contracted as an in-network provider with five of the seven ACC plans, including Care 1st, Steward Health Choice Arizona, Banner University Family Care, Mercy Care and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan. Phoenix Children’s continues to work with the other ACC plans to have its care and facilities in-network with these plans.

Meyer, President and CEO of Phoenix Children’s, who joined Phoenix Children’s in 2002 and helmed the organization’s expansion. “We are grateful for employees, providers and donors who banded together to serve our children – even in uncertain times.”
- Phoenix Children’s Sports Medicine program is opening sports physical therapy facilities specifically aimed at patients’ ages four to 30. The program will open two clinics in the Valley this fall, in Gilbert and North Phoenix, which will be the first Arizona sports physical therapy clinics designed for pediatric and young adult populations. The facilities will offer everything from return-to-sports readiness care, to cupping and dry needling.
- On the heels of receiving a top 10 ranking for its heart surgery and cardiology programs from U.S. News & World Report, Phoenix Children’s has earned the top rating of three stars by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) for the fifth time in a row. The newest rating is based on congenital cardiothoracic surgery outcomes data for the period from January 2014 through December 2017. The Cardiothoracic Surgery team at Phoenix Children's is one of just 12 programs in North America to earn this rating out of 119 participating programs.
