1. Recognize that malrotation encompasses a spectrum of intestinal rotation anomalies
2. Understand the prevalence of symptomatic malrotation across age groups
3. Differentiate the indications for prophylactic and emergency surgery for malrotation
About this presenter:
Tony joined the Pediatric Surgery fellowship at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in August 2022 after having completed his General Surgery residency training at the University of Miami – Jackson Memorial Hospital. During his time in Miami, he took a two-year break from clinical training to complete an NIH funded postdoctoral research fellowship focusing on basic science and translational research in Surgical Oncology and Tumor Immunology. He has been married to Fernanda for 10 years and has three children (ages 7, 4, and 1). Following fellowship training, Tony will be joining the faculty of Emory University as an attending pediatric surgeon at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA).
