Recording available for internal use only.
Please contact the Office of CME to receive access to the recorded session: pch-cme@phoenixchildrens.com
Presenter: Samantha Calvin, PhD, MBA, MHI, Director, Edson Human Trafficking Awareness Program, Arizona State University
Arizona is ramping up once again as a hot spot for tourism this spring with the Superbowl and other large sporting events coming to town. Even if you’ve had prior human trafficking training, this talk will go beyond the surface “101” with the most current information on how trafficking is impacting Arizona. This grand rounds will begin with a brief overview of human trafficking and the health (and healthcare) connections. Then, the presentation will dive deeper into what assessment and advocacy for minor human trafficking victims looks like. There will be case studies presented and real-world examples to consider. In addition, tools for identification and assessment including trauma-informed care principles, barriers to disclosing, and a look at screening tools that exist as well as recent data will be provided.
