Solid Tumor Program
Annually, about 13,000 children in the United States develop solid tumors. For these patients, the most important thing is a correct diagnosis. That’s where we come in. Our highly-specialized team of experts spends a great deal of time on testing for each patient because we know the correct diagnosis is paramount to a cure.
Phoenix Children’s is the only comprehensive program in the Southwest offering treatment for children with cancer or benign tumors, apart from those originating in the brain, blood or bone marrow. Our team uses the most up-to-date clinical trails, research collaborations and evidence-based practices currently available to children diagnosed with a wide variety of solid tumors.

Respecting Traditions
Many of our solid tumor patients are Native Americans. Often these patients’ families wish to perform traditional therapies at the reservation prior to a patient’s surgery at Phoenix Children’s. We take these wishes seriously and work closely with families to coordinate therapies.
