Pediatric Plastic and Craniofacial Surgery Fellowship
Fellows in the Pediatric Plastic and Craniofacial Surgery Program will be exposed to clinical management and operative techniques in general pediatric plastic surgery as well as those related to the interdisciplinary centers and programs within the Division of Plastic Surgery:
- Cleft Lip and Palate Team Clinic
- Maxillofacial Team Clinic
- Craniofacial Team Clinic
- Craniosynostosis Clinic
- Microtia/HFM Clinic
- Vascular Anomalies Clinic
- 22q11.2 Clinic
- Brachial Plexus Clinic
- Arthrogryposis Clinic
- Congenital Hand Clinic
During the first six months of training, the fellow will have one-month rotations with each faculty member allowing for exposure to preoperative planning, intraoperative care, and postoperative follow up for patients. This will involve clinic time, inpatient rounding, and surgical time. There is sufficient volume to meet minimum case requirements in the first six months of training. The second six months will be more directed by the fellow if they feel a stronger interest in any particular area (e.g., pediatric hand or cleft lip/palate). This will allow more focused training for the second half of the fellowship.
Additionally, the fellow will participate in the design and execution of departmental research projects in collaboration with faculty and staff. Research opportunities are available in the areas of, but not limited to, cleft, craniofacial, and hand.
