Kaitlynn's Story

A Walking Miracle

Kaitlynn first started showing signs of dystonia at 5 years old when she went back to crawling instead of walking. The neurological condition began to affect her speech, as well. Kaitlynn walks with the aid of a walker, but she and her doctors are aiming to help her become more independent. The Bubba Watson and PING Golf Motion Analysis Laboratory at Phoenix Children’s is helping her do just that! The physical therapists are able to track Kaitlynn’s movement using state-of-the-art video and imaging technology. From that, they’ll create treatment plans to help guide her physicians through her treatment.

Whether it's a sports-related injury or a life-threatening spinal abnormality, the teams at the Herbert J. Louis Center for Pediatric Orthopedics at Phoenix Children's is here to help. Our unique team is made up of a wide range of specialties and sub-specialties, combining their collective experience into a powerful force for healing and hope.
